Hungary’s involvement in supporting veterans and other victims of the Ukrainian war is currently a subject of increasing discussion. As part of efforts conducted at the national level, Hungary is sending aid packages to parts of Ukraine affected by the struggle against Russian aggression, providing summer camp services for the children of soldiers killed in the conflict, while also treating or offering rehabilitation to soldiers injured in anti-terrorist operations.

Struck by the situation of children hit hard by the military conflict in East Ukraine, Zoltán Horváth, a businessman from Siófok, launched a fund-raising aimed at the modernisation of a playground in the city of Volnovakha.

On 10 November, a joint declaration of intent was signed by the Hungarian “Life Without Fear” and the Ukrainian “I Volnovakha” Foundations.
